This qualification is designed for those working with Children age 0-19 years in Childcare and Health & Social Care settings.

It is assessed through assignments, a portfolio, and observations in a workplace setting.

WORK PLACEMENT

CACHE requires a minimum of 200 hours in a setting. NEWTEC staff can help you to arrange your placement.

QUALIFICATION (on successful completion)

CACHE Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce

FUTURE OPTIONS and JOB ROLES

You may go on to complete a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce; or find employment in one of the following roles:

• Early Years Assistant in a Children’s Centre

• Nursery school or Pre-school Assistant

• Special Education Needs Assistant

• Teaching Assistant in schools

Childminder’s Assistant

Level 1 Childcare qualification or relevant experience;

Level 1 Literacy/English and Entry L3 Numeracy/Math

There will be a review during the induction period to ensure that the course is appropriate for you.

You will also need to complete a CRB Disclosure to confirm that you have no criminal convictions that would prevent you from working with children.

DAY and TIME: Classes: 1 day per week - 9.30am-4.00pm;

Monthly assessments and regular tutorials;

Private Study for 2.5 hrs each week

DURATION:     36 weeks

Expected Learning Hours total: 370
