Course Fees
This course will give you the fundamental tools you need to become a registered home-based Child Carer/Childminder. It is also suitable for existing Childminders who would like to review their current practice against Ofsted requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
COURSE CONTENT:
- Establishing a safe and healthy environment in a home-based setting
- Producing Policies and Procedures
- Establishing routines for home-based childcare
- Ensuring equality and inclusion for all who use your service
- The importance of play and supporting children’s individual needs
- Managing behaviour in a home-based setting
- Working in partnership with parents
- Safeguarding in the home-based setting
- Starting a home-based childcare service (producing a business plan)
- Introduction to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
QUALIFICATIONS: (on successful completion)
- CACHE level 3 Diploma in Home-based Childcare
(Optional unit of the Children and Young People’s Workforce Qualification)
FUTURE OPTIONS:
- CACHE level 2 Diploma Children and Young People’s Workforce
- CACHE level 3 Diploma Children and Young People’s Workforce
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy
DAYS/TIMES: Thursdays 1pm – 4pm
DURATION: Once a week for 11 weeks
VENUE: Deanery Road Children’s Centre
