You Said, We Did…’ is a communication tool to inform of the changes NEWTEC has made as a result of Parents’ comments and suggestions.
Questionnaires were sent out to all parents/carers of the nurseries/crèche in June 2012.
This is a summary of their concerns and our actions.
Parent/Carer feedback |
Action taken |
Parent/Carers want more information about child development |
Addressed in Parent group on 21/06/12
Parent/Carers are not aware of fire procedure |
Not enough information about Neg2 dates of attendance |
During induction inform Parent/Carers NEG2 is term time only |
Children should go out the gates when there is an evacuation/fire dril |
The children all assemble in the children’s garden situated in the rear end of the nursery. A full health & safety check by the fire marshal is undertaken every time there is a fire alarm. If there is a concern for the safety of the children then the fire marshal will instruct the staff to assemble at the next assembly point which is Central park |
Once a year trip would be nice |
Children have been taken on topic trips. These include:
Ask permission from parents when trying out food/drinks |
When trying out new food/drinks ensure all parents have given permission before |
Second option during meal times in case they don’t like the first option |
Currently undertaking the healthy eating scheme whereby new menus will be introduced. A meat & vegetarian option is always in place |
Clean mouth properly when finished eating |
Ensure that all staff make sure children are cleaned properly after eating |
I think this place is a bit small for all the children |
Consider changing the layout of the rooms to maximise the use of space |
I would like to bring my daughter after 10am cut off point |
This measure is put into place so that children receive the best out of the nursery curriculum. This is also because lunches need to be booked by 10am for lunch to arrive by 12pm. This unfortunately is non-negotiable because it is crucial to book the lunches by 10am
